Black Canyon Inn is a historic property on the north side of town, tucked beneath Lumpy Ridge and overlooking the open space of MacGregor Ranch: ponderosa pines, a 1929 log lodge, a covered wedding pavilion, and resident elk. A guest ranch since 1965 and family-run since 1992, it delivers the classic Colorado mountain wedding on a property that stays yours for the day.

Event spaces

Black Canyon Inn runs two distinct wedding venues. The Homestead is a 1929 log building with fireplaces and rustic log-cabin character; it holds up to 100 guests, with the ceremony at the covered Wedding Pavilion, cocktail hour on the lawn or at the cabin bar, and the reception inside the cabin. Catering is an approved outside caterer of your choosing. The Boulders, the newer building at the top of the property surrounded by natural rock, is the larger option at up to 200 guests — ceremony and reception both inside the venue, cocktail hour on the deck, a Salon Suite and Lounge for the wedding party from 9am, and in-house Black Canyon catering and bar.

Both venues run on the same 6.5-hour event window covering ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, with decorating access from 10am, an hour of on-property pond access for photos, a day-of coordinator, custom floorplans with tables and chairs set by staff, china and glassware, and a champagne or sparkling cider toast. The property also books smaller micro-weddings and elopements.

On-site lodging — modern hotel suites (reservable in blocks) plus one-, two-, and three-bedroom condos, 28 rentals across six lodge buildings — lets the wedding party and most guests stay within walking distance of both venues, with special rates for wedding guests. Wedding and event sales: (970) 652-8544.
